Minimum Qualifications and More To succeed in this role, you'll need to meet some minimum
qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in engineering.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in hardware project management, specifically in consumer products, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Autofocus (AF) camera module project management.
However, we're also interested in your preferred qualifications, which can set you apart:
Experience in consumer electronics, phones, and camera hardware development.
Industry experience with direct product development, project management, and/or engineering management.
Knowledge of camera hardware development, manufacturing processes, and collaboration with Contract Manufacturers (CM).
A team player and creative thinker, with the ability to lead collaboration among technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors in accordance with plans.
Excellent communication, organizational execution, and leadership skills.
About the Role
As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the future of Pixel devices and services. You'll be responsible for leading complex camera hardware projects, from the product definition stage to design lock for mass production, all while working closely with cross-functional teams.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Project Leadership: You'll lead complex Pixel camera hardware projects, overseeing the entire project lifecycle. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan project requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate them effectively to project stakeholders.
Development Oversight: You'll manage the development of camera hardware modules and drive the tactical execution and strategy of the team. This involves leading camera module hardware development schedules, conducting project phase gate reviews, and resolving key technical issues with cross-functional teams and vendors to meet system build milestones, cost targets, and manufacturability goals.
Process Improvement: You'll implement process improvements to streamline module development, ensuring efficient and effective project execution. Additionally, you'll identify and manage risks, making informed decisions about quality and timing.
